The government has published a response to its consultation on extending redundancy protection for new parents returning from maternity leave, adoption leave and shared parental leave.
In its response, the government has committed to bring forward the following new legislation “when Parliamentary time allows”. The government proposes to extend the redundancy protection period for six months once a new parent has returned to work following maternity leave, adoption leave or shared parental leave.
