The Law Society has joined a campaign urging the government to increase the employment tribunal time limit for bringing claims from three to six months. HMCTS reports that the backlog of cases, which has grown since tribunal fees were declared unlawful in 2017, currently stands at over 40,000. The Law Society argues that a time limit extension could remedy this and avoid claimants being denied access to justice.
